Bio
Dr. NaTasha Tarleton is a proud alumna of UC Davis, where she earned her B.A. in Sociology. She returns to campus with eight years of experience supporting students in education, including as a College Mentor with Sacramento City Unified School District, where she guided first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented high school students through every step of the college process, from financial aid to application completion.
Dr. Tarleton currently serves as the Student Affairs Officer for African American and African Studies, where she supports students with academic advising, degree planning, and connecting to campus resources. She holds a Master's in Education and a Doctorate in Leadership for Change from Fielding Graduate University, where her dissertation examined the impact of COVID-19 on college preparation for first-generation students of color. She brings a student-centered, equity-minded approach to her work, rooted in the belief that every student deserves genuine access to opportunity and support.
In her free time, Dr. Tarleton enjoys making blankets, singing, and dancing to good music, and cherishes time spent with family, friends, and her dog, Nessie.
