Rekai Rusinga is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Political Science at UC Davis. Before coming to UC Davis, he studied and taught at the University of Zimbabwe; worked as a Programs Officer with Zimbabwe’s leading domestic election observer group, the Zimbabwe Election Support Network; and coordinated research on voter registration with the National Democratic Institute. Rekai's research focuses on international and domestic election observation, primarily within the African continent. He is also interested in the subject of reparatory justice for Black descendants of enslaved people in the United States, drawing lessons from post-Apartheid South Africa's experiences.
